Short v. Short (filed 10/25/11)
In this Court of Appeals of Missouri, Eastern District, case,
the Court held that the trial court’s finding that an old appraisal
of stock used for estate planning, which had large discounts, was of
marginal value, was not an abuse of discretion. The trial court believed
that the appraisal was not appropriate for determining value for marital
dissolution purposes as the interest would be sold to a family member,
not a third party.
